Shift Constrain not working
Since update to v29.5.0.35, holding the shift key while resizing an object does not constrain the aspect ratio of the object.
This happens whether "Transform Tools" is checked or unchecked.
One exception is if I create a new object using the shape tool. Constraint works for those objects until I alter them, or if I try to resize while another object is selected.
I have reset preferences, restarted Illustrator and the OS.

Windows 11 build 26100.3476
The latest Beta Build 29.6.25 has this bug fixed. Please update and see if it truly works as expected

@Akshaya, yes, there is.
Holding Opt/Alt with Shift seems to be broken, again (not for me though):
1. Older report 1, Holding Alt while dragging an object to copy / duplicate it doesn’t works: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/32365747
2. Older report 2, Alt-Drag to Duplicate (and Shift to align) Only Works Intermittently: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/31354873 (marked as fixed in 2020)
3. Recent report: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447/suggestions/50612417@Jason, does your issue feel the same as in the video posted by Tay, here in the report above?

@Egor - Is there any existing UV thread on the selection issue raised by Jason?

NOt sure if I should add this as a new bug or not, but often with the latest beta, I am unable to select elements directly. I can't get anything to select by clicking on it with the solid arrow tool.
If I drag a marquee to an item, it will select, But just clicking on it refuses to select it.Also, when attempting to constrain-drag-copy an element (ctr-shift-drag), if I also have the alt key pressed, the preview appearance looks like it's going to drop a copy where I want it, but when I release the mouse button, nothing happens, and the preview disappears.
Perhaps for 30 years I have been doing it wrong by holding all three buttons down to constrain drag-copy, but it has always worked. Now, I have to do everything twice because the first time I included ALT out of muscle memory. Is this related or should I enter a new bug?

Description:
In Illustrator Beta 2025, proportional scaling does not work as expected. Even when I click and drag a corner handle without holding Shift, the object does not scale proportionally — it stretches freely. This happens with simple shapes like rectangles, using the default Selection Tool (V).I have:
Reset preferences (Cmd/Ctrl + Option/Alt + Shift)
Checked the "Scale Strokes & Effects" and "Constrain Proportions" settings
Ensured the transform link icon is active in the Transform panel
Tried both new and existing documents
Expected behavior: dragging a corner handle without holding Shift should maintain proportions by default.
Please investigate — this behavior is inconsistent with the expected and advertised default in the latest beta version.

When I use the selection arrow + SHIFT, the proportions are not constrained. I tried everything to fix this. However, the shift tool + SHIFT can lock proportions when scaling. I something need to use the selection arrow tool to scale evenly. Please help!!

Using shape shift in combination with image transformation isn't working in the beta version of Illustrator. I tried every possible solution, but none worked.
This issue doesn't occur in the regular version.

When choosing the tools, the function of proportionally scaling the text or images doesn't work. Even if the "shift" key is pressed, the scaling effect cannot be achieved. Now I have to suspect that all your developers are just kids. More and more basic errors keep emerging, which seriously affects the usability of the product.

Proportional scale not working for text, in the new updated Beta version, this is even when holding the shift key.
The text will scale unproportionally based on where you move the arrow.

It would be advisable to report it as a beta version bug.

My work-around was to downgrade to 29.4.73. Shift constrain working OK in that version.
