   We have heard no reports for newer versions (29.0 or 30.0) for this issue. Marking this as resolved. If anyone is running into this issue on recent version, please make a comment.

   Illustrator v 25.0 desktop on PC won't let me create new files from scratch or with preset details. It's forcing me to download templates to work from.

   Illustrator v 25.0 desktop on iMac works fine.
