    That wouldn't work for me - I often need it switched off for a while and to have to switch it every single time would be a real pain. It can't be that difficult to have a toggle switch with an indicator light permanently visible...

    It would save a lot of time and hassle from either keeping on having to click the menu to see whether it's on, or forgetting when pasting and then having to re-allocate things to layers later on
