   This issue arises due to problems with Apple's graphic rendering pipeline on older versions of macOS and has been resolved by Apple in macOS 13 and above. We request you to update your macOS to13 and above to fix this issue.

   This seems like an old thread, but the problem still exists. NONE of the fixes suggested in all of the various community forums has worked. And this problem JUST started happening for me since I've gotten a new mac and new monitor. It is crazy making.

   Illustrator 28.1
   macOS Ventura 13.5 (on a Mac Mini)
   LG UltraFine monitor

   UPDATE - It seems to happen consistently when I attempt to remove an (empty) dartboard
