Hello all,
The 'Apply to all' checkbox has been brought back in the Replace missing link dialogue.
'Apply to all' checkbox was removed when we introduced the 'Auto-relink' (search for missing links in this folder) functionality, as we though 'auto-relink' is going to take care of the 'replace all' workflow as well. But it didn't work as expected in few cases as pointed out by some of you.
Hence, with the latest release V29.2 (full roll out happens on Jan 9), we have decided to revert to the earlier experience whereby we are bringing back 'apply to all' checkbox and rolling back the 'auto-relink functionality.
Because of conflicts, both of these functionality cannot co-exist unless we make some significant changes to the relinking experience.
As we understand, 'replace all' was a important workflow for most of you, so we decided to quickly bring it back while working on the overall…

However, I still don't see an update for the full version 29.2 yet. When is this going to be available? An error occurred while saving the comment Taryn Cassell commentedEnrico - version 28.4.1 still has the replace all box, and you are able to download multiple versions at the same time
An error occurred while saving the comment Taryn Cassell commentedStill no fix for this. This is ridiculous! The entire pre-press team is using an old version of Illustrator from before this was removed. There is no point in using the new version with new features when it adds HOURS of work everyday! This is such a simple fix on Adobe's end, just put back the feature you removed. How hard is this??
An error occurred while saving the comment Taryn Cassell commentedThe new way to replace doesn't work correctly. Like Egor said it only works correctly when you select the files that need replacing, but even that doesn't work fully.
We keep a file saved with 10 files with a broken link, so when we open the file it opens the dialog box for replacing or ignoring the links. No matter which of the 3 replace options I choose it will still ask me for each individual file how to handle it. This is not efficient.
An error occurred while saving the comment Taryn Cassell commentedIts been over 3 months since this was broken, we desperately need this fixed to save us HOURS of set up time every day. I had high hopes when it was returned in the previous Beta version, but now its gone again. We just need it returned and for it to stay there, there is no reason to remove it

I updated today and now the "replace all" option is gone againAn error occurred while saving the comment Taryn Cassell commentedThis is perfect! Exactly what we needed, just the replace all checkbox returned. I tested this with an old file we've been using forever and its working the same way! I believe this has been fixed with this Beta version. Thank you for listening to all of us and making it right!
When can we expect the next full version of Illustrator with this function returned? An error occurred while saving the comment Taryn Cassell commentedThis looks like it would fix our problem. Thank you for helping find a solution!
An error occurred while saving the comment Taryn Cassell commentedAjabon's diagram is perfect, that is exactly the way we use this feature and how we need it to work
An error occurred while saving the comment Taryn Cassell commentedThe new "search for missing link" checkbox only works if you are looking for multiple different missing links in a folder. I am needing to replace all copies of a file with a new one. For instance I need 10 yard signs on a sheet, and I want to re-link the old artwork to the new artwork, this no longer works with the current version of Illustrator. We just need the "Apply to All" button back . I have went back to the last version of Illustrator because of this problem, we use this feature all the time and it severely slows down our workday

The latest release is finally here! This function works exactly as it did before and we are all very happy to finally be able to update Illustrator. Thank you for adding this much needed function back!
