    Please try in this order:
    - load csv data
    - select text field and variable, then make it dynamic
    - select data set since Illustrator doesn't have it active by default !
    - now you can preview content by clicking on the arrow buttons

  2. Normal "Save" operation in recording Actions becomes a "Save as" operation
