   Backquote(`) can be used to transform a pattern within an object. Documentation is also updated for the same https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/default-keyboard-shortcuts.html.

   my coworker and I have also experienced this.. pls someone advise a solve! this is very difficult not being able to use this key
