Many months (possibly a year ago). I mentioned to someone on this platform that I’m a surface pattern designer. I want desperately to use the ipad for my designs but the ability to make a repeat pattern is impossible if the artist is trying to place certain motifs in specific places. For example if a a design element (motif) is being built on a square and that element falls off the top, then it must be duplicated and repeated in the same position but off the bottom of the square. In the desktop version this is easy. You just plug in the math. + or the size of the square. Procreate makes this easier because they use a different system that doesn’t require numbers at all but procreate is raster and not vector. I need vector. Along comes affinity designer for the ipad and their system works pretty well but affinity doesn’t have an image trace function and that’s a problem. I could have a lengthy conversation and screen share the process with someone interested. But adobe seems spread a little thin these days with a web version when the ipad version doesn’t feel the least bit finished.
