    It's a bug alright, however I found a way to get out... this may work:
    1. Click on fn and F11
    2. Click on the desktop
    3. Click and hold the Ai icon
    4. Go Recent Files and open any other file

    You should be able to get back to the file you were working on, save and re-open normally.
