    Dear Adobe Illustrator Team,

I’d like to report a long-standing issue in the Reflect dialog box that has been frustrating users for years.

In the Reflect tool, the labels for "Horizontal" and "Vertical" are **logically incorrect** and do **not match the actual axis of reflection**:

    - Selecting **"Horizontal"** reflects the object **across the vertical axis**.
    - Selecting **"Vertical"** reflects the object **across the horizontal axis**.

This is confusing and counterintuitive. The naming implies the axis of movement, not the axis of reflection, which contradicts how transformations are typically understood across design software — including other Adobe apps like Photoshop, InDesign, etc.

Even worse, the **icons next to the labels are correct**, but the **text labels are misleading**, making the UX inconsistent and error-prone — especially for new users or when using non-English UIs.

    ### Why this matters:
    - It breaks consistency with design logic and other Adobe tools.
    - It causes user frustration and incorrect transformations.
    - It’s an issue that could be fixed easily (by updating the labels), yet it has remained for over a decade.

Please consider updating the Reflect dialog to label the axes **according to the axis being mirrored across**, or at least provide clarification in the UI.

Thank you for your attention to this.

    Sincerely,
[A frustrated but loyal Illustrator user]
