Feature Request: Enhance Missing Font Replacement Dialog with Search Functionality
Dear Adobe Illustrator Development Team,
I am writing to request a crucial quality-of-life improvement for the font handling and replacement workflow in Adobe Illustrator.
Current Issue (The Pain Point)
When opening a document with missing fonts, the "Missing Fonts" dialog requires users to manually select a replacement font from a drop-down list. This list contains all system fonts, which is highly inefficient and time-consuming, especially for users with hundreds or thousands of installed fonts. We have to scroll endlessly to locate a specific replacement font.
Requested Improvement (The Solution)
Please integrate a live search bar or a similar type-to-find mechanism directly into the "Replacement Font" selection menu within the Missing Fonts dialog box.
This simple addition would allow users to:
- Type the first few letters of the desired replacement font.
- Filter the long list immediately.
- Select and replace the missing font instantly.
This enhancement would significantly improve productivity and the user experience when dealing with external files or collaborating with others.
Thank you for considering this essential feature request. We look forward to seeing this improvement in a future update.
Best regards,
From Many Dedicated Illustrator Users
