We have the fix available in the latest release. Please update Illustrator using Adobe Creative Cloud application to the latest build for version Illustrator CC 22.1.

All my live work is in the DropBox folder on my MacBook which is constantly synced with DropBox servers—assume it's something to do with that (perhaps DropBox flagging the file as updated when it's synced, which would happen in between each save).
Only started after updating to CC2018.
...should have also said, I am saving .ai files. It only happens when I'm saving a file I've been working on.
