Thanks for raising this. We've looked into this issue from our side, but we're unable to reproduce the issue internally so far.

If you're still seeing it, could you help us with a few details so we can dig in further?

    • Are you still facing the issue? (yes / intermittent / no longer)
    • Machine configuration — OS and version, GPU, and Illustrator version/build
    • Reproduction rate — does it happen every time, or only sometimes?
    • A screen recording of the issue as it happens, if you can capture one
    • The AI file you were working with when the issue occurred (feel free to share a stripped-down/anonymised version if the original is confidential)

If the issue is 100% reproducible on your machine, we'd be happy to set up a short debug session with you.

Thanks for your patience and for helping us track this down.

    Warm regards,

    Aishwarya G Gadodia

This is affecting me as well. Crashing constantly since I installed V23.0.

Illustrator 2026 allows use to choose if we want Smart Guides to be limited to the currently active artboard.

We can toggle the behavior in Preferences > Smart Guides section, in Limit Snapping block, with the new Snap Within: Active Artboard.

Please try to use it and comment back to tell if it behaves as you expect it to. Any feedback is really appreciated and would help to shape it further.

I've said this countless times. I wish Adobe would focus on the basics within Illustrator. Take snapping for instance. I find snapping accuracy to be all-over-the-map. Most of the time it snaps to everything BUT what I want an object to snap to. I'll have a guide 2 pixels away and it'll snap to something 1500 px away - why? I would love to see CAD - like functionality within Illustrator. Ability to work with scales easily, advanced snapping functionality, measuring tools etc.
