Please share your thoughts on the following:

    1. Would it make sense to have a separate desktop app, just to create charts, and bring them inside Illustrator or InDesign? It may not be on cloud.

    2. Or would you rather have us work on building it within Illustrator?

    Thanks
    Yogesh

Thanks, @Jonathan. That Chartwell tool is pretty cool—using fonts to may charts?!? Genius!

I thought the whole point with the cloud stuff was for Adobe to be more agile in their releases. I cannot believe there has been no improvement in this chart tool since 2017.

Well, Adobe Max is later this year, so maybe…

Since no one from Adobe is listening to this, I'm heading over to Twitter to see if I can give this thread a bump. https://twitter.com/ianaberle/status/1287784427322593286

Even Adobe's own marketing materials are ignoring the chart tool. See "Make better bar graphs with Adobe Illustrator" at https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/how-to/make-better-bar-graphs.html.

There is such a need for infographics and data visualizations right now, I cannot see why this is not more of a priority to the Adobe Illustrator team. I can think of no feature that can use an update in Illustrator more than the chart tool.

I agree with @Nicolaas. This feature still feels like a CS2 version than a CC2019 version.

With Adobe Max coming up in a couple of weeks, hopefully, there will be some movement on this. I've found using Datawrapper <https://www.datawrapper.de>, a good solution in the interim, but would love to lose that extra step and have something I can directly manipulate in Illustrator or as an extension of the suite.
