   Based on feedback, this issue is fixed by upgrading to MacOS Catalina . We are closing this .Let us know if you are still observing this on MacOS Catalina and we will reopen this thread.

   iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014)
   4 GHz Intel Core i7
   32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
   AMD Radeon R9 M290X 2 GB

   Never happens until I open Illustrator, then flickers until I restart.
