    I don't know why the "steps" are showing up as a code box in my post, but here are the steps:

    Steps:
    1. Make new layer in PS. Right Click layer->Convert to smart object
    2. Right click PS layer->replace contents->select a multi artboard illustrator
    file -> select any artboard other than the first ->place as "media box".
    3. Double click smart object layer to open in illustrator. -> make any
    adjustment to file then save."
