Since one of the recent CC updates at the end of February, both Illustrator and Photoshop have been having a glitch multiple times a day with their tabs. You'll go into the program and see one of your projects open, but when you click on another tab it still shows the original project. The only way you can see your other projects is if you take them off the tab bar into a separate window. All tool panels behave exactly the same. The only way I can fix this is to take every single one of my projects off the tab bar into a new window, save them all, then restart the program. Same behavior in Photoshop.
This is not an isolated incident to me (16 inch mbp), our other designer (13 mbp) has also experienced the same issue starting around the same time. This happens multiple times a day to me and is very frustrating, especially since I can't just quit and restart. I have to save every project in individual windows because the typical "save changes to...?" process doesn't work when it won't show me the files.
