   I agree. Just finished chatting with Support, trying to sort this out. He sent me here so that I could submit a "Feature Request" and I laughed. A fixed bug is NOT a feature.

   Illustrator now supports panning with the middle-click held. Also you can toggle Zoom with Mouse Wheel option in Preferences > General. No need to remap anything for having these now.
