    the only way I can suggest is to hold on two fingers on the trackpad and then move one of the fingers sideways, you'll not get a perfect result but it'll do the job for the time being.
    I use an Alienware R2 15, I'm having the same trouble using illustrator without a mouse. and the hand tool doesn't work on it either so it's difficult to work in an outdoor environment on illustrator without a mouse or a proper set workspace.
