Illustrator CC often crash if GPU Performance is enabled on Macbook Pro Touch Bar 2016
Actually, turn it off will solve the issue, but sluggish zoom in/out.

Illustrator CC 2024 has started crashing frequently several times for a few days now, I tried disabling the GPU preview and it doesn't seem to crash (which in theory should improve performance by freeing up resources from the CPU), but the zoom +/- is really frustrating.
Illustrator should be rewritten from scratch, it's too heavy a software and doesn't take advantage of all of today's hardware. If they continue to saturate the software with new features without creating a solid, stable and fast base for the software, Illustrator will not even open sooner or later.
When I used Freehand I did everything with it, since I switched to Adobe, I rarely use Illustrator, I've fallen back on InDesign. Working with the cumbersomeness, heaviness and slowness of Illustrator is very very frustrating. To do a 5-minute job it takes 30 minutes just to wait for Ai to recover and in the meantime pray that everything doesn't close without saving...
