  1. Make Free Distort tool work with images

    Free distort doesn't support many object types.
    Please make it work with images, both linked or embedded.
    I have to use envelope distortion (with embedded only, breaking link with image) each time I need to distort an image within AI.

  2. Make Mesh Envelope Distort work with linked images

    Since Free distort doesn't support images at all, both linked or embedded.
    I have to use envelope distortion each time I need to distort an image within AI.
    But I have to break link with image for this, because Envelope works only with embedded images sadly.

  3. Allow Warp Effects to distort linear gradient

    When you turn on distorting linear gradients (Object > Envelope Distort > Envelope options: Distort Linear Gradients Fill), AI still won't do it when you use Warp Effects (Effect > Warp). This should be fixed.

    I'd even extend this option to treat other gradients types, not only linear.

  4. We need Illustrator to be able to edit triangular meshes

    Ai can display triangular meshes alright, but not edit.

    We can generate one by expanding modern 3D object with the Render as Vector option turned on, we can have one generated after expanding an object filled with Freeform Gradient (which is just the live container with control points for creating one, with no control over the density).

    But once they are created, we get 'Non-Native Art' bricks we can do nothing with — no Recolor, no direct edit with mesh tools, only scale and rotate and distort.

    Not enough! We need you to support these fully.
    And make some good…

  5. Allow to distort a text with Free Distort tool

    In many other software packages you are able to use perspective distortion on text. This should be a very basic feature of Illustrator. This way you can still change the font / text while it is in perspective.

  6. Mesh tool hold and drag

    When we click a shape with the Mesh tool, a node gets immediately applied to the shape/mesh, a new row and a column get instantly inserted. If I keep holding the mouse button / pen, it won’t help me anymore to position my node precisely. So the insertion should not happen immediately on a mouse click, but on a mouse release, drawing all the possible results while the button / pen is held down.

  7. Make Envelope Distort to ignore the clipped part of a clipping group

    I would like it to be possible to perform an envelope distort operation so that only what is in the clipping is taken into account in the calculation of object bending. At the moment, if I have, for example, objects (like circle) in a clipping rectangle and I use the "Make with Mesh" or "Make with Top Object" option to bend the whole thing to a different shape, the bend sizes are not only limited to the clipping but to all objects that are not visible and hidden under the clipping, causing it to be badly deformed.   8. Distortion tool like the feature in Photoshop

    Could you please add a distortion feature in Illustrator, such as the one in Photoshop, for clipping mask objects and linked images? I know that Illustrator already has one called 'envelope distort' but I find it difficult to use.

  9. Allow to use raster images with Mockup

    (Not sure exactly what category this request falls under...) The mockup tool as it is now is pretty limiting. If you have a raster image as part of what you want to mock up, the mockup tool doesn't work. I design food packaging, most of which has an image of the item in the package. Being able to mock up packages that include images would be a godsend!

    (And if anyone has a workaround, please share! I use the legacy 3d tool for cylindrical objects. But for things like pouches I haven't figured a way to do it. Thanks.)

  10. Improved text editing while within an envelope

    Currently if you want to edit text that's inside an envelope, depending on how warped it is, it can be difficult to edit the text directly. The workaround is to 'release' the envelope in the 'Envelope Distort' menu, edit the text, then reapply the text to the envelope using 'Make with top object'. Perhaps improve the text editing to match the shape and size of the envelope or have a popup window that displays the text in normal format and edit it that way.
    In my example, the black boxes is the original text but editing has proved difficult.

  11. Envelope Mesh needs corner points option

    Envelope Mesh needs to have points that can be converted to corner points. It only has Bézier curve points which make it impossible to get perfect straight angles. Like the pen tool has. I have struggled with this for years.

  12. Gradient Mesh Tool should have the ability to add a circular mesh within a circle.

    Gradient Mesh tool should have the ability to add circular mesh lines within a circle. Currently if you have a circle, a new mesh line will only span from one edge of the circumference to another however it would be good to add a concentric circle in the circular mesh

  13. Copy and Paste mesh points into a mesh replacing selected points

    I have to make changes to a series or envelope meshes the top section is the same and the bit I need to change so it would be nice to copy the points from one mesh into another by just overlaying the meshes and transferring the points from one to the other

  14. Being able to export an object with a mesh tool as a obj design from Ai to use as a model in Adobe Dimension

    I created a mesh design and illustrator as a plastic bag with wrinkles was not able to export as an OBJ file to use in adobe dimension. Now that Photoshop does not have full fledge 3-D tools., I am not sure if it’s possible to create an OBJ file that has mesh in it.

  15. Convert a Gradient Mesh to a path

    If you are able to easily make a gradient mesh using a gradient mesh tool, I would think it would be equally easy to unmake a gradient mesh back into a standard closed path instead of having to use Object > Offset Path and remove all values.
