Please add a new feature to adjust the space between words that we can increase or decrease the gap between words.2 votes
You can do this by opening Justification dialog in Paragraph panel menu, and tweaking the Word Spacing values, Desired and Maximum (Maximum must be equal or larger than Desired). Works both for Point and Area Type texts.
Please go back to allowing fonts to be found by typing in the name into the drop down menu.2 votes
This is exactly what Illustrator allows already.
In facet, it allows two ways you can toggle, using the 'looking glass' icon at the left of the Font Family input: 'Search Entire Font Name' or 'Search First Word only'.
Perhaps it got changed for you?
Anyway — if it does not behave like it should — please log a separate bug request about this in the proper forums’ section.
it's too hard to change text size in the small boxes in the character window. Hard to select all the content. Hard to select the number part only. And both of these are the only way to make it work. Please just change behavior so that clicking in the box selects all the content.1 vote
Illustrator offers two ways for accessing fields:
1. Clicking the caption of a field selects all the content in that field.
2. Clicking the field itself sets the cursor in the exact location of the click.
So anyone can choose the behaviour they prefer.
In Illustrator 2023 came the addition of auto-formatting being applied to text.
Specifically bullets, hyphen bullets, etc.
This should have an option to permanently disable, as it is a nuisance and an efficiency problem to have to turn off every single new text block.
Seriously, Adobe looked at one of Word's most broken features and decided to ram it into Illustrator? The least you could do is look at a good implementation of it like on Google Docs!
But nope, we get terribly formatted, non-customizable, defaulted bullet auto-formatting.
At least give me a preference setting to turn it off permanently.
There is a way to disable this feature: Preferences > Type > Automatic Bulleted and Numbered lists while typing.
However, the fact it’s that obscured and is not given to a user when a conversion happens is a bad UX indeed. In some other apps this choice is given, even when it’s not the first one.
If you want to change this, please keep adding votes and comments.
Provide an option or a button to reset all the values of the character and paragraph panel.1 vote
This can be done by clicking [Normal Character/Paragraph Styles] items in Character / Paragraph Styles panels (Window > Type >). These styles are also redefinable.
Illustrator defaults to "Auto" in regards to leading - about 120% of the point size of the type. When using display faces, I often find I set type a lot tighter - usually around the same leading as the point size. It would be really helpful if there were a setting for that in the type panel, so that as I change the point size of the type (say from 24 pts to 72 pts) the leading would also change automatically from 24 pts to 72 pts - just as it would from one size to another when the leading…1 vote
We can change the value Illustrator uses as 'auto' in Justification dialog, which you can access via the Paragraph panel’s menu. Change 'Auto Leading' to 100% to get what you want.
If you want this setting to be applied to all new text objects, you should open Paragraph Styled panel, and edit the [Normal Paragraph Style].
If you want this to be applied to every new document you make, you should learn about editing document profile files Illustrator uses as core templates. Just don’t forget to backup these.

As far as I know, the Group command now is available in the context menu for a selection of multiple objects, after an Image Tracing object gets expanded, no difference from any other selection.
If you still have the issue, please comment back.
Like old Macromedia Freehand, It has a mouse drag and hot key to increase the space characters1 vote
You can adjust spacing between a selection of characters with a hotkey Cmd/Ctrl + Opt/Alt + K (which focuses the input) and then Arrow keys.
