Lock, hide, deactivate artboards
An option to lock, hide or deactivate one or several artboards would improve working with multiple versions of graphics — especially when you you need to return to an earlier iteration.
When saving to an AI-file you have to erase the artboard (with the graphics floating in space) to get rid of the page.
140 votesIn 30.0 version the team added a Lock column in the Artboards panel, that allows to 'Lock all objects on an artboard instantly to prevent accidental edits'.
While it adds a really useful ability, it doesn’t really match the original intention this request was about — to make artboards themselves (not objects on them) unexportable, unprintable, disabled for navigation, etc. The request was thus split and merged into a separate entry — Option for Artboards to be non-printing and non-exportable (inactive)
