Can you add a “vector magnet” function? So that lines and points are “attracted” at a certain distance. I need this feature to work with both pen and pencil. Other vector applications have this feature, but I need it in Illustrator.

Seconding the opinions of everyone else here. Absolutely critical feature that needs to be added.

Brand new to iPad illustrator & its infuriating how little snaps to each other (even with snaps On), guides don't snap to lines or anchors, rotation point doesn't snap to anchors and things try to align to the outside of strokes rather than the actual vector lines… my work has to be super accurate and it can’t be on this… would LOVE to see this implemented as the rest feels so good and familiar!

Yes, and avoid the current issue where when we try to joint 2 paths and the points are very close, inevitably Illustrator joints both paths but creates 2 points one on top of the other.

This current behaviour forces us to delete one of these two points if we need to adjust that point - unnecessary loss of time in addition to the inconvenience. This happens all the time, and I mean hundreds of times a day

How about if we move one point close to another point from a different shape, with the snap turned on the point not only snaps perfectly, illustrator could pop a message that says “ join both points and connect both shapes ( yes,no )

If we just want to snap, one tap on NO is easy and fast enough, one tap on YES is powerful to save a lot of time. And why not adding a preference in case some users prefer a simple point snap functionality?

Yes that snap to path doesn't exist is really strange, it's such a base feature, just like erase to intersection. And make the whole experience with the program feel more chunky and clumsy.

I do a lot of illustrative line work that requires for paths and anchors to “intersect”. I end up having to go back on the desktop and tweak every point (can’t have gaps) after working on the ipad app. This would be super helpful and reduce the work time.

Yes, this is an essential of illustrator to snap to point, please add!!!

Aligning objects to one another could be improved a lot. Points do not snap to other points or paths when using the pen tool or when moving points around. The Smart Guides as they are now seem to only handle the outside box of objects? It's hard not to produce gaps all over the place as it is. I'd suggest an option like "snap to point" and "snap to path" (or both in one at the very least)?
