In Illustrator, the options panels are not there or unavailable: as in the properties of material or lighting options.

You have two objects selected in the background, judging by the small piece of the Layers panel beneath, right? They also have some complex appearances applied? Are these 3D effects? Are they the same 3D effect?
It'd better to the see the file itself.
