Artboard resizes art with it after Beta V29.0
I updated to Illustrator Beta 29.0 in place of the previous version, but it did not install any executables and would not open. I was able to uninstall what was there, reinstall 28.8, and then reinstall 29.0, keeping the previous version this time. Now, in 29.0, I can't resize my artboard without it grabbing and sizing all of the content.
It doesn't matter if I have anything selected. Once I go to resize my artboard, it grabs everthing within its bounds. I have to select all and cut everything that is there in order to resize an artboard, then paste it back in place. It has only happened since the update. If I move things to the canvas, I can resize the artboard only. This is fine when I'm doing smaller pieces. However, when I'm have to have several very large artboards (8 @ 54" x 100") so I can set up a print file for trailer graphics, it isn't really an option. This is especially true when I'm determining how to fit several different items on an artboard, how I need to manually tile oversized graphics, and when I need to drag the length only to the end of the artwork.
The behavior with scaling contents of artboards with them is not a bug, but actually a long-awaited functionality requested here. You can disable it from Control panel or from Properties.

Thank you for that information. I most definitely do not want that feature enabled, so I will go in and turn it off. Thanks so much for following up to help me solve this issue.

Darla, thank you so much for this report!
1. Yes, updating this Beta build indeed is not smooth. If one chooses to 'remove old version' when prompted, CCD removes the older Beta, but forgets to install a newer one for some reason! The team is aware and is investigating it. The solution you came up with is OK too, reinstalling it anew just works.
2. The behavior with scaling contents of artboards with them is not a bug, but actually a long-awaited functionality requested here: http://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/333657/suggestions/31500847. The problem with is though the mode is now enabled by default, and most users are not aware of it. You can disable it from Control panel or from Properties ((like the screenshots show).
Sorry for the inconvenience.
