    Hi Everyone,

The fix has been rolled out and is available in our latest release build – 29.3.0 which is available worldwide now.

Now groups get the applied appearance positioned above the Contents in the Appearance panel.

    What’s new in 29.3: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/whats-new.html

You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html

Thank you for all the feedback.

Every single time I want to use the Eyedropper Tool on text or groups it simply does not work. For example. if a text or a group is black and I pick a color from, say, red shape, the color swatch changes to red, but text/group stays the same. Then I have to clik on the "None" right below the color swatch. That deletes the picked color from the color swatch (red) and leaves the original one (black). Then I press it again so that my text/group becomes empty. Then and only then the eyedropper tool does its job properly. But only with color. Properties are not picked up like they are for example in InDesign.
