I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 26.0.0 which is available worldwide now.

Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.

You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html

Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

Working on a Windows 10 computer using AI ver 25.0.
I am unable to use my mouse to click-and-drag to highlight/select text in text fields in the user interface. For example: When I have an object selected in Illustrator and go to the Transform window, I am able to click into the fields for X, Y, W, H. however I am unable to click-and-drag the mouse to highlight the information in these fields in order to quickly copy-paste them.

I am able to use the Ctrl+A shortcut to select all as a temporary work-around, but it seems unnecessary considering that I have to first move my mouse to the desired field and click into the field first anyway. This one small change, intentional or otherwise, has presented an inconvenient disruption to my workflow. I would like to be able to once again click-and-drag to select the information.
