Drag to select Text in fields broken with update
In the properties panel we are no longer able to drag to select the text in text fields. Very frustrating. This doesn't seem to be an issue in other text fields throughout the UI, mainly the properties panel.
I am happy to share that we have fixed this bug in our latest release – 26.0.0 which is available worldwide now.
Going forward, our goal is to fix as many top User-Voice bugs as possible and as frequently as possible. Given the nature of the fixes, some of the bugs will take a longer time to fix, but we are on it.
You can update to the latest release using Creative Cloud desktop App: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/creative-cloud-updates.html
Thank you for all the feedback. Keep it coming!

Sometimes it is possible, but partially.
 Definitely needs to be fixed.

commentedStill broken in 25.2.1 (March 2021 release) on both new document and properties panels. Does anyone at Adobe even use their own products?

commentedStill broken in newest release (Win 10, Version 25.2), at least in new document and any properties configuration. Super annoying.

commentedYeah, this is annoying. Cannot drag to select numbers.
Double and triple-clicks works to select whole numbers, but drag and select act a bit weird. Sometimes it works if to drag "too far" outside the number box, but even still is not controllable where the selection ends.

commentedThis is still happening for me in the most recent update (Ai 25.2). My work requires me to shift and resize objects regularly and this frustrating bug consistently slows my workflow.

commentedWhen attempting to enter a number value directly such as an element's width, in previous releases the standard OS and browser UI behavior of click and drag to highlight the text in the field and then key in the desired value appears to be broken. Instead the value can be double clicked only to select the entire text field contents. This is usable but annoying at time when a value needs to be only partially edited.

commentedWorking on a Windows 10 computer using AI ver 25.0.
I am unable to use my mouse to click-and-drag to highlight/select text in text fields in the user interface. For example: When I have an object selected in Illustrator and go to the Transform window, I am able to click into the fields for X, Y, W, H. however I am unable to click-and-drag the mouse to highlight the information in these fields in order to quickly copy-paste them.I am able to use the Ctrl+A shortcut to select all as a temporary work-around, but it seems unnecessary considering that I have to first move my mouse to the desired field and click into the field first anyway. This one small change, intentional or otherwise, has presented an inconvenient disruption to my workflow. I would like to be able to once again click-and-drag to select the information.

commentedYes, this is a frustrating bug. I actually just finally came around to using the properties box instead of the controls at the top because there are some features I really like about it, but I started noticing the highlighting issue after I updated to the 2021 version of Illustrator. I kept thinking something was wrong with my mouse until I found I could highlight things fine in other panels.

commentedWhen adjusting values in the Transform box, I can no longer highlight with my mouse. I need click on the field I'd like to edit with my mouse and then use my keyboard's shift and arrow keys to highlight, which I find quite tedious.

commentedWhen trying to select numbers from a window ex: 100% or 2500px, you cannot select a number to change one number.. you must change the whole number. This is a HUGE bug!
