    Regardless, I don't consider it a problem. Just shortening the ridiculously long name is the solution.

    I found a file that might have been the problem then because I can't open it now in Adobe AI, nor any with a length like it.

    The folder would have been C:\Users\...\Desktop\My Documents\...\...\purchased images\Zdenek Sasek\

    The longest file name I can open is this one:
    Cartoonstickfiguredrawingconceptualillustrationofmanorbusinessmanwithsmallcharacterstandingonhishandandwatchinghimwithmagnifyingglass._800dc6ef-b29c-4b67-a57e-001dc9025fc3.ai

    I had actually forgotten about this. It was when I was buying Adobe Stock, which often produced very long file names, but I haven't done that for quite a while and I forgot what project I was working on when I reported the problem. So no, sorry: I can't give specifics. Many versions have been released since then. As far as I am concerned, consider it not a problem.
