Hello all,
The 'Apply to all' checkbox has been brought back in the Replace missing link dialogue.
'Apply to all' checkbox was removed when we introduced the 'Auto-relink' (search for missing links in this folder) functionality, as we though 'auto-relink' is going to take care of the 'replace all' workflow as well. But it didn't work as expected in few cases as pointed out by some of you.
Hence, with the latest release V29.2 (full roll out happens on Jan 9), we have decided to revert to the earlier experience whereby we are bringing back 'apply to all' checkbox and rolling back the 'auto-relink functionality.
Because of conflicts, both of these functionality cannot co-exist unless we make some significant changes to the relinking experience.
As we understand, 'replace all' was a important workflow for most of you, so we decided to quickly bring it back while working on the overall…

Also the when we do relink to a missing file instead of finding all the links in that folder they have to be replaced individually or through the new "search folder for all links" feature instead of automatically like it used to.

An error occurred while saving the comment Stephen commentedI'm trying to just link a PDF file into illustrator. I'm using the File>Place it's giving m the error. I have to open Illustrator using the INTEL version which will place the file fine. The Intel macs will also place the file no problem. It's the Intel mac that I keep running into this issue. It isn't every PDF or file i try to place. Just seems to be the larger file sizes or more complicated artwork.
For example if it has a lot of layer affects or very high res images embedded or linked into the file.Stephen shared this idea · -

An error occurred while saving the comment Stephen commentedThere is a second work around. Open Illustrator through cloud by using the ellipses. Click on the ellipses and open the intel version. Seem to clear it up but should not be the final solution.
