A current 'workaround' is to disable Transform Tools option in Preferences > Smart Guides. This removes the 'uniform' guide, making the smart guides less useful, but it stops it from jittering.

Hey Egor,
I downloaded the software you have but the keystrokes are not showing on my recording like yours did. First section of the video is with shift pressed and second section is without the shift pressed.
Thanks,

Hey Egor,
I just tested version 29.8.4 and it works fine with this one.
I'm having the issue with version 30.1
I also I replied earlier and I don't see my comment, so here is again:
The issue is when using the white cursor to extend a single edge to the bleed guideline, not when dragging the whole shape with the black cursor. ( I'm on a windows machine right now as well )

Hey Egor,
I'm on a windows machine right now.
I just watched the video you have attached, the issue is not when dragging the entire rectangle to snap.
The issue is using the white cursor and extending a single edge to snap to the bleed.
Try that and let me know if you are having the same results
Thanks!,

Hey Egor,
It's happening with all my files, even a new document with a new rectangle in it
Attached is a screenshot of my smart guides settings and screenshots of a new document with a rectangle . as you can see the " pink guideline " for the smart guides is not showing up when using the shift key.
Thanks!

When dragging the edge of a rectangle while pressing the Shift key the line will not snap to the edge of the bleed guideline, it will only work if I release the Shift key, issue started to happen about a month ago.

Hey Egor,
Sorry Im not sure if I understand the question. but if you mean about leaving some colours as CMYK and other as SPOT, the answer is not, they are very strict with the colours.
So it is very important that the RIP softwares (Caldera or Fiery for example) can do the CMYK conversion instead of illustrator.
We print in many different substrate and different printers so we need to match all materials and different inks to look the same and we dont have that kind of control with CMYK values, so we assign SPOT colours and we create a Mapping library in the RIP end.
But because clients don't send the files with the colours properly setup, we in the prepress department have to go thru every file and fix each colours to be a SPOT ( Except for gradients because that's another can of worm)
Talking about gradients, my script doesn't change the gradients to spot colours, it leave them as CMYK and only change spot solid colours.
Attached is a video of a simplified process of my script fixing colours.

Actually if you look at my screenshot the 3 first CMYK values had to be remapped to PANTONE 199 C, that was a good example about not getting files with CMYK consistent from clients.

Hey Egor,
My script has a library for auto-mapping and illustrator doesn't. this lead me to have to create my own script.
Sometimes clients will also send artwork with elements that are not consistent on the CMYK value so I have to keep updating the mapping for example:
0.100.100.10 or 0.100.100.12 , very subtle but i have had that issue then i need to update mapping and keep adding to the .JSON library
For example if I have 200 items for a stadium and they all have to be converted from CMYK to SPOT colour, my script saves me a lot of time rather than going color by color and doing " Merge swatches " , where my script fails is that documents with tons of vectors and transparencies can use too much memory and crash illustrator.
The reason I have this issue is because the clients will list colours as spot colours on their branding but send the designs as CMYK and I need these to be spot colours for our printers.
screenshots attached of the .JSON file

Hey @Egor,
Its been a while since I posted on this thread.
I manage to develop the script using ChatGPT, but my biggest road block is that the script has to read every single element in the document to remap the CMYK to the Pantone Colour.
The fastest way to re-colour multiple elements is to manually using "Merge Swatches" in the swatch palette.
What are the chances that Adobe will include the Merge swatches to the extend script?

@Egor, I found a work around. but I would prefer if I could use the merging swatch option in the swatch panel, is faster than looking thru every element in the design.

As stated in this request’s status update, the team had to temporarily revoke the 'Search for missing links in this folder' feature to make a way for the missing 'Apply to All' option when relinking, starting with version 29.2.
These two can’t coexist at the moment, and the team intends to come up with a better solution to allow both.

@Egor,
We work with very large files to cover stadiums around the field of play, fascias, voms, etc.. and because of the Substrate sizes limitation, for example fabric, we have to do a lot of splits and these numbers can be large to try to do everything at 10% (For example FIFA, which is one of the big events we are producing this year)
for example:
3,260.125 = 326.0125 ( which is already a 10% scale on a large canvas document that is also treated at 10% so its now more like 1% when exporting my PDF settings )
it can get confusing really fast for my prepress technicians. even worse if I we have to work at 50% scale which I try to avoid the most.
I really welcome the Large canvas size of illustrator!
I just wish I knew the document was set that way. some kind of marking or alert that is visible to my prepress technicians :), so they can export the files with the right settings every time, even when rushing.

I posted a similar issues to this showing how the DPI is affected when saving in PDF, Large canvas makes everything at 10%, but it lies to the user telling that you are at 100%
I have made a few scripts and in all of them I have to add a checkbox to multiply by scale of 10%
But mainly I also agree that we need a marker or a way to tell if we are working on large canvas. Im a prepress designer and we send too many prints for production in the wrong dpi because we forgot to check the size of the canvas bound instead of having illustrator telling us in a more efficient way.
I think it should be noted in the window tab along with the file name, scale and color space.

While Ai now allows to get this disabled in Preferences > General, with the "Show 'Print Bleed' generative AI button on Bleed", I personally don’t think it’s a full solution (and won’t close the request).
I think Ai should allow to disable this right there, from this icon, and should not force us to hunt the option in the closet.
I also suggest upvoting this request —
An ability to disable Text to Vector Graphic feature and any other generative options

As mentioned before, this got shipped into the main (GA) build, but the development is not completed. The team has been gathering all the user feedback and intends to address it.
Here are several relevant entries you can upvote.
Bug reports:
- Spots and Globals are converted into process colors when included into Swatch Info
- Swatches Info doesn’t work for the only swatch selected
- Swatch Info renders a saved tint as yet another copy of the main global color
- The default text color in Swatches Info is rich RGB black when used in a CMYK document
- Tabs in Swatch Info text are made with spaces instead of actual tabs
- Bottom margins for labels are too small for Swatch Info objects in the column view (with no card backgrounds)

This feature still feels very incomplete, you posted today as "Completed"
Pantones are still saving as CMYK values, still very impossible to change the font size of the text without damaging the layout of the swatches ( I had to create my own action to save my sanity )
and how come if you only have 1 swatch selected you can create the " swatch info " the only way to make it work is having at 2 colours selected, what if the art only has 1 colour in it.
I updated my illustrator this morning with high hopes and to my surprise the menu still looks the exact same as it did yesterday ( Updated to 29.3.1 )
I really hope more its being done for this feature as it is very useful for my day to day job as a pre-press designer and there is a lot of colour that have to be listed on production proofs and this have been a time saver.

Hey Egor,
I found this old thread from 9 years ago:
https://community.adobe.com/questions-652/snapping-issues-while-holdilidng-shift-793083
The solution was to turn off " Transform tools" in the Smart guides preferences.
It seems to be working now.
