Agreed on this. I don't use Global edit often because you can't use it to delete everything selected, which is annoying, but I love that you can direct it to only select on certain artboards. Although, it would help to add 'current' to the options, because I'm always trying to figure out what the number the artboard is so I can type it into 'range'.
Edit: It doesn't bode well that people have been asking for this since 2018, but honestly this functionality would make a huge improvement in my daily workflow and I'm surprised it's not a more common ask.

I would like to control which ones are visible if my window is half screen, because transform always disappears first. And while I know the properties menu exists, I have gotten used to using it from the top and then having other side panels open when I need access to specific options like swatches, color libraries, links and arrange (because distribute is in the side panel).
Edit: I fully agree with Egor's comments below but I cannot upvote them.

Yes these are extremely strange and useless options. Honestly just including "current" as an option would be a huge improvement.
