    Here is some good news. We users who have confirmed that the issue is resolved when you install the latest version of Google File Stream.
    Please update to Google Drive File Stream 26.1.37.2022 or later

    I am having real problems with InDesign and Illustrator on my MacBook Pro when accessing files from the new Google Drive File System. I had no problems whatsoever when using Google Drive. I have been forced to implement GDFS and I now cannot double click on a file expecting to load inDesign and my MacBook just hangs. My only solution is to switch off !! very annoying.
