  1. "Left-click the tool to view a list of all the tools in the tool group." Does not work.

    i fixed it.

    i had the previous version of Illustrator set to 'monitor 2' and when i opened the new version it opened in monitor 1, and i hadn't moved it over, yet. apparently if you try to open one of the tool groups when Illustrator is on a different monitor than the one it's "set to use," it won't do anything.
