The new SVG export adds a <tspan> around the text.
Opening this SVG with <tspan> gets you an additional <group> in Adobe Illustrator version 28
Can this not be disabled via an option so that a clean SVG is created again.

@Matt, yes i am working on a windows system, it was working on my older version, but now i have the same error as you :-(

It's bad that Adobe overrules this, otherwise it was the best option.

Hi Matt you can find the AdobeFnt_OSFonts.lst in:
    /Users/xxxxxx/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/AIRobin 27.0.0 Settings/en_US/x64

This is a big issue for using Adobe creating SVG files
Did solve by changing AdobeFnt_OSFonts.lst (changed ArailMT to Arial)
    That was working fine
But since version 28.0.0 it is overruled and return back to ArialMT
Change all the AdobeFnt_OSFonts.lst made it read only but sitll export is using ArialMT instead of Arial.

Hi Brennan Young see attached SVG with no spaces. The screenshot contains version 2018 (22.1) is the background en the newest version 2019 (23.0.5) then you see that the ID's are ok in 2018 and are not available in 2019 there it is <Group>

In 2017 Illustrator import of SVG was ok, all the G tag ID's where converter to names of the the group. PERFECT! But now it is going wrong it is converted for some id's ok but most are converted to <Group> instead of the ID what is going wrong here!

    Please solve this ASAP
