Adobe, please implement this basic use case (defaulting to exporting to the same folder as the opened .ai/image file) for Export for Screens just like it was implemented for Export As.

About half of the 116 votes for implementing the similar "Export As" feature request were actually requesting this be implemented for Export As Screens instead or in addition to that, as seen here:
    https://illustrator.uservoice.com/forums/601447-illustrator-bugs/suggestions/31990174-export-jpg-png-any-format-in-same-folder-of-ai-f

However, for some reason, that request was only accepted and implemented for Export As, resulting in inconsistent behavior with this extremely tedious bug or undesirable behavior remaining for Export As Screens.
As it stands now, it's a lot easier and saves time to use other applications for basic image editing like cropping and saving in other formats, etc. (when don't need major editing) instead of Illustrator primarily due just to this massively tedious and extremely time-consuming process of having to navigate up and then down again dozens of folders to completely different paths or even drives every time I export, which I have to do every time I make any change to any Illustrator file.

So please considering implementing this too, for consistency and because half of the 116 votes in the other accepted feature request were actually (per their comments) requesting it be done for Export For Screens instead.

    Thanks,
    Dan
