    I think I figure out why!!!
    That might be because - you are logged out ot the Adobe Cloud Suite when you try to save the file.

    I met the same issue, I checked every font setting in Illustrator and everything looks fine.
    Also, in Illustrator, everything looks great! But when it exports as PDF, the font just change... No idea!!!
    Then I realize... I was logged out of the Adobe Cloud when I try to save my .AI file into PDF.
    Since I'm still able to continue using Illustrator with no question. The app didn't stop my current used software.
    But... I am just not able to save the file as same as what I see it in Illustrator...
