    It is now possible to update several images at once in the latest Beta 28.1.0.100.

    To do that, you can check the 'Unembed all selected images to this folder' option next to Unembed / Cancel buttons in the Unembed dialog.


    Please try it and comment back if it works for you as expected (or not).

    This is a huge problem with this new version of Illustrator which I just discovered. My 300 dpi images are importing way too large in size and I have to manually rescale them — which really slows down my work flow. We never had to worry about this before as Illustrator was able to tell what the the dimensions of any file was regardless of the DPI. Illustrator has lost its ability to distinguish between document size and DPI and now only reads things as DPI. At the very least, there should be an import setting that allows you to select what dpi you want images to display at.
