Automatically Edit layer name upon creation
Right now when I create a layer, I then have to manually go to that layer and edit it to be able to name it properly.
There is no good reason that anyone would ever leave a layer named "Layer123".
It would save a lot of time and extra clicks if when creating new layers, you automatically entered the quick layer name editor in the tree (not the pop up) with the layer name highlighted so I can simply type a new name and press enter.
1 voteAi allows this.
The default hotkey to create a dialog when creating a new layer is Ctrl+Alt+L.
You can change it in Keyboard Shortcuts: Menu Commands: Other Panel > New Layer with Dialog.
Another way to do it would be Alt+click the New Layer button in Layers panel.

Allow us to move a triangle's center point to its centroid
Allow users to move the center point of a triangle from the outer boundary's center to the triangle's centroid, which is its true point of balance and center of mass.
1 voteIt is possible to do.
Select a triangular shape, go to Object > Shape menu and choose Convert to Shape.
This will turn the path into a live shape, a polygon (if it is a regular triangle, an equilateral or an isosceles one). Now, if you have center point enabled (you can always toggle it from Attributes panel), you’ll notice it’s in the placed at the centroid point.

Unlike Photoshop, Illustrator does not have a default hotkey for Invert Selection, and the shortcut Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + I is reserved for Toggle Perspective Grid command.
But we can set one ourselves in Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts dialog, in the Menu commands section.

Apply Stylistic Sets to all characters at once
Some fonts come with stylistic sets, would me nice to apply the set directly to a selected text, and not glyph by glyph.
2 votesThe dedicated Open Type panel allows to do that.

Bring Back the Glyphs Panel
I just updated to the latest and greatest Illustrator tonight. I'm in Typography Workspace and for the life of me, I can't find the Glyphs Panel. It appears to be gone. I can see all the other type tools I expect. But, not Glyphs. Is there a different way to access the OT alternate letter forms? The Glyphs Panel used to by under the Windows menu. Not today. :-( I've highlighted individual letters and right clicked on 'em, tried different Workspaces,. etc. No luck. If there is another way to access alternate letter forms, I'd love to know what it…

"Edit Artboards" button in top toolbar
The quickest way I have found of getting to the "edit artboards" state is to:
- click "document setup" in the top toolbar (when the toolbar decides it wants to show that option; i know it's based on the tool i choose but I really would love for that button to always be there),
- then a dialog box opens
- then I click "edit artboards".
Usually what I'm wanting to do when I do that process is to move or resize artboards by clicking and dragging.
There is also a "preferences" button that I NEVER use in the toolbar, and basically every…
