Scale pattern not object
I was on the Ai help desk with Nikhail, and he told me to write to you - I do surface pattern design and you are supposed to be able to use the shortcut of S and ~ to scale pattern and not an object. But it pulls up the Pen tool for me. We reinstalled latest CC and he worked on it for a long time to no avail. HELP! Otherwise you have to go through like ten steps to transform pattern and not object, everyone else in my class seems to be successful - I must have a setting wrong - please advise

I understand it might be too late for a reply (4 years passed) — but is this still a problem for you? I know the ~ key does not work for those who uses keyboard layouts other than English quite often, but you are form the US, I presume. Please correct me.
