Improve print quality for non-postscript printers on macOS
When using Illustrator on macOS Computers, the quality (resolution) of documents is lower when printed on non-postscript printers than when printing the same document using Acrobat (this seems not to be the case for Windows).
The attached file shows the difference between the exact same file printed on the same printer using the same settings. The upper part was printed using Acrobat, the lower part was directly printed with Illustrator.

I have same issue with the Canon Pro-10S but without driver installed on Ventura. Did you install the driver?

YES. I've been having this same issue and Adobe nor the printer support could provide any insight. PLEASE resolve this issue. We shouldn't have to save multiple separate files just to print something from illustrator.

Hi Bruno,
Please print with enabling "Print as Bitmap" option in Advanced tab of print dialog.

When printing artwork directly from Illustrator running on macOS Sierra (currently using 21.1.0) the prints look pixelated. This does not happen when printing the same file with the same settings on the same printer when Illustrator is running on Windows 10.
I can reproduce the effect with a Canon Pro-10S and a Canon Maxify 5150.
A workaround on macOS is to save the file as a pdf file and print it from Acrobat. Then the quality of the prints is good.
I attached a scanned example of the difference in print quality. The top part of the image shows the Windows 10 print, the lower part shows the same image printed on macOS Sierra.
