Free Distort Zoom
You guys should allow Free Distort to be zoomed-up on in the Free Distort window. It'd be nice to be able to zoom up real close into that window like one can on an artboard.

Jake, this tool should be just remade.
Meanwhile, try to use awesome Stylism panel that allows to do this right on your canvas.
