Remember Kai’s Powertools?
Is there a way you can match what that program used to do? It had a way better vector effects ability to extrude and shatter, etc vector shapes and letters. It worked way better than the 3D function Illustrator has.

Tim, CValley FILTERiT plugin pack used to have a similar toolset, with their Lens tool.
Here, you can review these in this article: https://www.creative-aktuell.de/blog-details/illustrator-filterit-plugin-objekte-verzerren.html (scroll somewhere in the middle)
Alas, the company recently went silent... I’m afraid the revenue was just too small for them to sat afloat, or something even more sad happened. -

Sadly, I have found no worthy replacement for this wonderful set of tools.
My understanding is that the mathematics needed to create Filters, Actions etc for Photoshop (bitmap images) is trivial compared to that for vector-based artwork.
Back when I was young ;) I used to keep a version of Illustrator 7 (I believe the last compatible version of Ai ) just to be able to use KPT... I should have kept an old mac running System 7 so I could still use KPT.
Irreplaceable today – I'd love to see Kai, or someone, redo or re-release the effects.
Below, a couple of doodles from 2002 using KPT Spherise effect...
RIP KPT

The Warp feature for the Kai vector tools was so great. The control was really good. I think AI has been able to replicate their 3D pretty well but yes I completely agree and I totally miss these plugins - even if it's for nostalgia's sake.
