Color swatch variables
Add color and pattern swatches as options in variables pallet.

This would be genius. I have a workflow that would benefit from this greatly. Currently, creating swatches and then exporting as images to link as a variable to create masked objects with different colors. Swatches associated to variables would be so much easier and allow greater flexibility.

This would be very helpful. Here is my workflow:
I create customizable prints that can include different patterns based on a customer's selection at purchase. Each product SKU has a corresponding patterns and custom colors in my AI template. I currently have to select each pattern and apply it manually. It would be great if I could automate this step in production by dynamically adding the pattern to the artboard based on the configurations from my CSV file.

Jonatan, can you elaborate on a workflow you want to achieve with that?

Option 2! It's wild the things I'm still learning about this program. Thanks, Egor!

Ben, by multiple places you mean different documents or different pieces of a single artwork?
If 1 — use Libraries, I guess. If 2 —just tick Global when creating a swatch. -

It would be awesome to link colors used in multiple places to a parent color swatch. When wanting to change every instance of a specific hex value you could make the change once and have them all update (similar feature in InDesign, I believe?)
