Adding Scale next to Units in Preferences
I would like to be able to work with scales. For example sometimes I design large objects that don't fit the working area and using scales would be much easier to have a real idea of the dimensions of the object. I would like to be able to choose scales 1:5, 1:25, 1:50 and see the scaled dimension in "Properties/Transform" .

Rene, Vicki, the mockup implies this setting is a global app-level setting, which can be difficult to use with several document opened...
Perhaps you meant it as a per-document setting? Or perhaps even per-layer or per-group? -

Would be very useful for this feature to be included. In creating Surface Designs/Prints, Patterns, Repeats—or whatever you want to call them, being able to move/copy and item by percentage is imperative . I do this in Photoshop, have created an action and it nearly automates my complex designs.
