Option to disable Rotate View
I think the new rotate view update is great if you want to work from multiple angles. But I’ve found it extremely difficult to work while using my trackpad because when ever I zoom in on my projects rotate view is automatically triggered and I have to keep going back to reset my view. As someone who works on multiple art boards at once this happens in a smaller span of time which tends to become annoying after a while.

This is the WORST!!!!! Always activates accidentally by hitting SHIFT + SPACEBAR. Have the option to Disable already OMG.

It's really annoying when developers have no idea about how there software actually work in real life. If Adobe have used at least one real Graphic Designer to test there software changes (which clearly was not necessary) this stupid change could have been avoided. A Company like Adobe must know something about the people who use there software. We pay ransom every Year Just to use it. They should be able to cater for customers needs. Not to some developers stupid ideas that got nothing to do with practicality

Egor Chistyakov, you asked how we stumbled into this when we didn't want to do this rotation. I'm working in an 18' wide artboard. I screen grab to reference colors. I place the screen grab, select it, hold the shift key while enlarging it, and then hit the spacebar to move within the artboard, and I get the unwanted rotation. I don't have any use for this tool, so I too would like the option to turn it off. (I'd also like UNDO to work, but it doesn't look like that's the case. I had to go searching online for what keystrokes DO this, to figure out how to undo it.)

Add a canvas rotation lock so when you zoom in with your fingers on your screen you don't accidentally rotate the canvas.

Unfortunately NO! It's still a boring issue

So still no fix?

Please Adobe, can you solve this annoying feature and let us block the rotation when not required?

Yup, hate it.

Agreed! Please notify when this becomes an option.

I totally agree it's not letting me work quickly. It keeps rotation when I'm just zooming in and out. please, we need something to lock this option

I posted about this same thing a bit ago. The art board rotate is driving me insane. It does it all on it's own while I am using my Wacom board.
I would love to see an ON/OFF as well.

Bort, I can’t but ask — what keys are these?
To activate a canvas rotation you should either hold Space+Shift (which you can’t assign to anything else anyway) or hit Shift+H (which you can and should reassign or just remove if it bothers you).
How else can you rotate it? I am curious. -

I'd like to see a button, check box or something to TURN ON/OFF CANVAS ROTATION.
Sure, canvas rotation is a nifty idea, but, with my custom keyboard shortcuts - and when I'm on a roll making stuff - I find myself daily activating canvas rotation when I don't want it rotated.
And I'm too dug in (and stubborn) to change my keyboard shortcuts. -

I zoom in and out with my trackpad all the time, and this new rotate view feature constantly rotates everything and messes things up. You can quickly cancel the effect with the esc. key but you cannot lock or remove this feature. This is very annoying and doesn't let me work nearly as fast.

This is a new feature that was just introduced. I use a Wacom tablet in Illustrator CC and for whatever reason my artboard will rotate on its own randomly when my hand hits the Wacom just right. I have no use for this tool and would love to be able to disable or turn it off. It does it multiple times a day and is very frustrating.
Thank you.

Hey guys! I appreciate how much effort you put on making Adobe Illustrator (as well as the whole CC) better and better
However, I feel the new feature "Rotate View" ("Rotar Vista" in Spanish) quite upsetting for those who use MacBook and are used to navigate through the canvas using gestures on the trackpad (for navigating and zooming in/out)
Almost everytime I tried to Make some zoom on my design with the trackpad, the View went distorted because of the new feature!
So I had to spend time to restore the View to 0 degrees
That means more time invested in the same task
I'd love to have an option for disabling this feature so I can just navigate and Zoom all around the canvas without the risk of having it annoyingly twisted (just like it was three hours ago 💛)
Thanks for every improvement made! I don't tend to criticize your updates; but in this case, unfortunately I had to.
Hope to get a solution to this ASAP
All the MacBook trackpad users will be pleased!
Thank you and bye!

I'm using Illustrator with my Mac and I only use trackpad. After the new rotation function has been updated, almost every time I try to zoom in/out the screen, the art board is rotated. It bothers me a lot.... Could you please add the on/off function of the art board rotation? Thanks

I use a trackpad to design stuff in illustrator. I use two fingers to zoom in and out, but with this new feature of rotating the view, I keep accidentally rotating my complete workspace while I zoom in or out on my work. This is super annoying.

Ciao Egor, spero che almeno qualcuno in adobe stia pensando a questa possibilità o almeno inserire una specie di lucchetto in modo da evitare rotazioni involontarie.
