Object > Repeat > Mirror needs options for Flipping
Currently the only assignable option for "Repeat > Mirror," is the angle of symmetry. The option to flip the mirrored object (similar to the "Reflect," tool) would be useful for Mirror. Example: Illustrating the letter "S," or "Z," for asymmetrical designs. Similar options are already implemented in the "Repeat > Grid," function, but aren't present for "Repeat > Mirror".

There are several downsides to the Transform method.
1. You can’t move the clipping line to crop the object
2. It’s hard to setup the rotation of the clipping line
3. it’s hard to make the whole object rotated, if you need it
All of these can be solved, though, but with a lot of effort.
So the request is valid still.
However, since it really feels strange, can you please attach a screenshot of the thing you are making, to better convince others? -

Thanks Egor, it is a bit strange for a mirror to flip like this. :) Good call with the Transform Effect. Setting the copies to 1, checking the axis of reflection, then setting the offset gives a similar result for now.

A bit strange to have a mirror that not only mirrors, but also flips, but that’s because the name implies this. I get the idea.
For now I’d advise to use Transform effect to workaround this.
