Opentype + Glyphs UI Menu Preview
While the UI for Opentype is appreciably better than Indesign, there are still a few hinderances in the UI that make it painfully difficult to use and limits functionality. This could solved in one (hopefully easy) solution: PREVIEW TYPOGRAPHIC FEATURES
THE PROBLEM:
Currently, you have to click the stylistic set to open a dropdown menu, once you’ve clicked a style, the dropdown disappears. To see another style you need to open the dropdown menu again and deselect the previous style you just selected. Open the dropdown menu again, and then select the next style.
THE SOLUTION:
Opentype and Glyphs panels should behave just like the Fonts Menu: When you open the font family menu with text highlighted, each font you hover over previews on your selected text.
This needs to be replicated for Opentype and Glyphs. So once you open the dropdown for Stylistic Sets or Glyphs, each style you hover over, will preview in real time on your selected text or in a pop up menu.
Not only will this SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVE USER EXPERIENCE by removing all the clunky impediments, it will also IMPROVE ACCESSIBILITY! As someone lightly vision impaired, it is extremely difficult to see small details in the font + glyphs menu. Having the ability to preview the changes on highlighted text, allows me to see the styles at a visible scale!
Please Adobe team make these changes!🙏 It will make Opentype and Glyphs easier to use and more accessible to all. 😊
Also sorry if this request already exists - it's really hard to search and navigate posts. 😞

Melanie, I see what you mean. The problem is that a selection of text can have many stylistic sets chosen... so the menu shows options picked, because knowing the chosen sets can be rather crucial, compared to the way font styles are treated in Character, when Ai just displays nothing in the dropdown when a mixed text is selected.
However, it’s a valid request, upvoted.
And no, it’s the first time I recall somebody asked for this.
