Please revert to data recovery files being saved as .ai files instead of .aishm files that can't be opened.
Have the data recovery files save as .ai files that you can actually open and work on, rather than .aishm files that are unopenable.
What's the use of data recovery files that you can't open?

Previously, Illustrator generated .aid files for recovery, but in the latest version, the program now uses the .aishm format. Unfortunately, the new .aishm file format does not work reliably in many cases. After a crash, Illustrator either fails to open the .aishm file or presents an empty, corrupted, or unusable document. This makes the recovery process highly unreliable, leading to potential data loss. I am extremely frustrated.

the new auto-recover file save type used by illustrator is "***.aishm"- this file type is not recognized by any adobe program. Please revert the autorecovery file type back to "xx.aid"
